An ambitious but essentially powerless Canadian politician wants to ban the use of cellphones and MP3 players for young drivers. The legislature of Ontario is being asked to consider a bill by Liberal backbencher Kevin Flynn. More than a quarter of all fatalities in cars are young drivers, and that age group embraces cellphones (and all the distractions that go with them). The chances of acceptance of the bill are low, but much better than a total ban of cellphones in vehicles for all drivers would be.
