When you hear the term “hybrid” in the transportation industry, you typically think of cars that make use of petrol and electricity. The Twike is something different altogether: it’s a “human-electric hybrid two-person tricycle. You can make use of the 5kW electric motor, or alternatively, propel the vehicle yourself using the functional pedals at your feet (one set for each person on board). The steering is performed with a joystick-like navigator, and the regenerative antilock braking captures energy from deceleration to top up the energy pack. Top speed is rated at 85km/h with a range of 130km.
