The news keeps getting worse.
Toshiba has thrown in the towel with Dell, Apple, IBM, and Lenovo, issuing a recall of a staggering 830,000 laptop batteries. Those would be the batteries of the Sony variety, of course, the ones that are still making headlines these days.
Just recently a Sony battery-powered computer caught fire at a Los Angeles airport, prompting a whole new round of recalls. Lenovo and IBM are putting Sony on the hook for more than 500,000 of the little lithium-ion fireballs.
With the Toshiba figures, the total number of batteries recalled has surpassed 7 million.
