Softbank Japan ushers in Toshiba 811T clamshell with 3.2MP cam

It will be official as of this coming Sunday: Vodafone Japan will be no more, and the land of the rising sun will be blanketed by banners exclaiming that Softbank is king. Accompanying the service provider’s name change is an all-new clamshell from Toshiba — the 811T — which comes packed with features, including 3G (W-CDMA), a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash, and built-in stereo speakers. Naturally, it doubles as a music player with its microSD expansion (up to 1GB). This tri-band GSM handset also features a secondary QVGA cam for video calls, Bluetooth, GPS, a dedicated Yahoo access key, and Infrared. Expected shipping date is in November.
