Ben who? BenQ! I remember when I first saw that name, I thought it was pronounced “benk”. How ignorant of me. While the BenQ-Siemens line is doing perfectly fine for itself in Asia, the German wing — BenQ Mobile — is calling it quits after some rather lacklustre market penetration. From what we can tell, Siemens may continue to be in the cell phone game though such channels as Fujitsu-Siemens, and BenQ will keep selling their own branded handsets in Asia. The German BenQ-Siemens employees, however, are simply out of luck (and work).
