SanDisk is definitely listening to its customers.

The Flash card maker has announced a pair of super-density cards aimed at the high-end photography market. The new capacities are 12GB and 16GB. Those are gaudy numbers, and they have price tags to match: The 16GB model will set you back US$1,049.99 and the 12GB just US$779.99.

The read-write speeds are an impressive 20 megabytes a second, part of the overall philosophy behind the Extreme III lineup, which the company says is the most advanced NAND scheme in the business.

Both models will be shipping by the end of the year, in CompactFlash, SD card, and Memory Stick PRO Duo formats.
