Wires suck. My brother just got himself a sweet home theatre set up for his pad, and while we were setting it up, we were entangled in a whole bunch of cables, cursing to ourselves. That type of scenario will soon be a thing of the past. Omron has developed an ultra wideband (UWB) MIMO antenna that could be integrated into any number of devices, allowing for wireless high definition video transmission. Destined for OEMs, this antenna will work perfectly with HDTVs, projectors, DVD players, and other similar devices.

The antenna, using propriety polymer technology, can be molded into any number of shapes to best fit the design of the device it’s going into. Omron expects to start shipping the antenna to manufacturers this coming Spring.
