Sometimes, you just can’t lock yourself down to a WiFi hotspot for too long. You need to go stretch your legs and bring your laptop with you to the places that may not have WLAN available. That’s when you’d consider something like the Motorola FOMA M2501, a simple PC card that plugs into your notebook and provides you with glorious HSDPA internet access.

To be available though NTT DoCoMo this Friday, the M2501 is “Japan’s first PC card to support international roaming in 142 countries and is compatible with GSM/GPRS/3G(WCDMA).” In this way, you can access speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. No word on pricing.
