We want to think that this is just a concept vehicle, but you never know …

Remember the Nissan Terranaut we heard about back in February? Well, what was once a sketch of an arctic voyager, is a dead ringer for the bridge of a Star Trek cruiser, at least in one of the more modern ones. The seats swivel all the way around, the controls and displays are on the walls in LCD form, and the whole interior is laid out in a circle, not a rectangle. Even the sunroof is circular, designed to give the whole thing a spaceship look and feel.

The Terranaut (meaning “Earth traveler,” if you’re wondering) is being marketed as a 4×4. We’re not sure whether this one is going to make it to wide release, even with a certain segment of the vehicle-buying population. Still, the interior is certainly inventive and also definitely hidden: You can’t tell from the outside that it’s anything other than a “normal” vehicle. Put me down for one.
