So, garden variety optical discs are a little too big for your liking? Clashes a little too much with your tiny cell phone and belt-clip sized iPod shuffle? Well, now you can store almost the same amount of data on a mini-DVD as a regular DVD+/-R, because Axxen is implementing dual-layer technology onto the tiny discs.

The Korean company says that you can get “almost the capacity of a DVD-R into a DL mini DVD”, while shaving precious millimetres off its circumference (the mini-DVD is only 8cm). It may not be the prettiest looking disc, but it’s certainly small and now it can hang out (and stash as much) as the big boys.
