Boeing recently announced that they were giving up on the Connexion service which provided in-flight broadband, but it may not be dead yet.

Panasonic is going to offer their own service that will work in planes already fitted for Connexion. It will be more attractive than the Boeing option as well – offering speeds of 12Mbps/3Mbps compared to the 5Mbps/1Mbps that Boeing offered. The new service will use more affordable and compact equipment. That means cheaper wholesale prices for airlines, and more affordable service for customers.
