The lines in the sand have been drawn. The rivalry between the super geeks continues, as Bill Gates and Microsoft have said that the upcoming Zune portable media player will not be compatible with Macs, at least not right away (if ever). I can just see Steve Jobs shrugging it off and directing everyone’s attention back to the colourful new Nanos.

At launch, the Microsoft Zune will be a Windows-only device. You see, it does not support mass storage mode and there is no Mac version of the Zune Marketplace software. Of course, if you own a Mac, there are ways for you to run Windows anyways.
