It’s not every day that we get to talk about fishing tech in this space, but today is special because Ulvac has unveiled what they call “Strom”. These new lures come with an optical coating that uses nanotechnology… and we all know how much we love nanotechnology.

Ulvac is usually better known for their vacuum equipment, but with an innovation like this, they may want to change their business. The nanotech coating ensures that the lure keeps shining regardless of the viewing angle and, well, fish like shiny things. These new lures are so good, in fact, that field testers caught four times as much fish with Strom compared to other lures. Look for Strom in two weights (2.4kg and 3.7kg) with pricing set at $25 when they go on sale next month.
