While this latest announcement isn’t one of their typical “world’s first” kind of deals, it is clearly designed to illustrate that they are trying to be innovative and creative with their cell phones. You see, Samsung is “diversifying” mobile phone cover choices and not just sticking to the usual plastic: Their new “Magic Silver Phone” comes coated in magnesium.

Not exactly a world’s first, but they are quick to point out that it is the first of its kind in Korea. Under the skin, you’ll find the SCH-B500 Mobile TV Phone with all the usual bells and whistles. Other experimental coverings include fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) for the Ultra Edition 6.9, magnesium for the Ultra Edition 9.9, and rubber for the Ultra Edition 12.9.
