New Suzuki car gets 78 mpg from a gas engine

Suzuki wants to make you forget what a gas station looks like. The company has unveiled a website promoting their new supermini, The Splash, which will debut late next year with an incredible 78 mpg fuel efficiency. That would be pretty good for a hybrid, but it is amazing for a gas engine. Under the hood is an all-new 1200cc 16-valve DOHC four cylinder engine. Though it’s not clear where it will show up, the Splash will cost about $16,000 when it appears.
