Remember Microsoft? They’re not just a Windows company anymore.

Seriously, the Redmond, Wash.-based company has come out with a webcam that is rather impressive. The NX-6000 has a 2-megapixel video stream, which translates to 7 megapixels in static images. (For those doing the math at home, that’s the equivalent of 1600×1200.)

You can also pan and tilt, for more angles, and face track, for improved focus. The software involved offers assorted other video effects, for maximum creativity.

This product is definitely designed for the portable crowd. It’s lens drops right back into its shell, meaning that you can pop the whole thing in the laptop bag and not worry about damaging that sensitive lens.

Price? It’s just US$100. You’ll have to wait until November, however.
