My, that was fast. Wasn’t it only yesterday that the Stevemeister hit up the stage and got us doing the iPod mini dance all over again by unveiling the second generation Nano? While some of us may be pretty happy about the turn back to aluminium casing (so much hardier and scratch-resistant), a bigger selling point for the company could be that the 2G Nano will be available in a variety of colors, instead of just the now standard glossy white and glossy black.

As with any Apple commercial, especially those surrounding the company’s music and video players, the latest offering is incredibly stylized. They want to emphasize the flashy new colors for the new Nano, and I think this ad achieves that.

Just as a refresher, the new iPod Nano will be available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB versions with pricing staying the same as the current 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB Nanos (they’re saying you get double the memory “for free”): $149, $199, and $249. The kicker, however, is that the 4GB version will come in a number of metallic colors, including pink, blue and green.
