If you prefer to keep your camera slim like your cell phone, then start doing your happy dance because Sony has a couple of new CyberShots for you — the DSC-T50 and DSC-N2 — both of which boast 3-inch touchscreens.
First up is the edgier DSC-T50 with its seven megapixels of image sensing goodness, 3x optical zoom lens of the Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar variety, and 56MB of internal memory. As expected, the T50 uses Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo media cards for up to 4 gigabytes of storage. Let your personality shine through and choose from red, black and silver casings.
For softer lines and higher resolutions, you may want to consider the DSC-N2 (pictured) with its 10 megapixel imaging sensor. It’s got the same 3x optical zoom, but the internal memory is cut in half (only 25MB here). That said, you can dynamically resize pictures to VGA resolution and carry them around as a portable photo album.
Battery life is quite good thanks to the Stamina InfoLithium batteries, rated at 400 shots and 300 shots per charge on the T50 and N2, respectively.
Both the $500 T50 and $450 N2 will be available some time next month.
