There is nothing worse than trying to see your phone’s display when it is bright and sunny outside. You need to find a number, but you can’t see a thing. Samsung has come up with a solution for that problem, it means you don’t have to find shade every time you want to see. The new device has a sensor which automatically detects the brightness of the ambient light around and adjusts the image so that you are able to see it. When the sensor determines that you are inside it automatically dims the backlight so that your battery isn’t drained faster than it needs to be.

Samsung has high hopes for the display because of the explosion of portable devices (not literally in this case), like phones, portable media players and PDAs, needing high quality screens. The company plans to have the new technology in mass production before the end of the year.
