Dash Navigation to offer drivers real-time traffic data, network

Now comes word that a Silicon Valley start-up by the name of Dash Navigation is set to release a product suggested by the company’s name: an on-dash navigation system designed to give the driver real-time information about the road ahead and around the vehicle.

In addition to the usual suspects of accident and construction updates, the system will connect users to a shared information network. In essence, you as one driver can share what you see on the road with others on the network.

Details other than that are slim. The company, whose employees have been working on this new product for three years, will unveil the system near the end of next month.
