The new car would like use the same powerplant that is under the hood of the Lexus 600h sedan. That’s a 5.0-liter V8 working with an electric motor which can combine to kick out 435 horsepower. That will allow the hybrid supercar to hit 60 mph from a standstill in less than 4 seconds and to top out north of 200 mph. Not bad considering you’re saving gas and helping the environment at the same time.
As was speculated, Toyota will officially go with the V8 both in this car and the regular fuel model. The V10 was the original choice, but Formula 1 is switching from V10 to V8, and Toyota wants to be consistent with the technology.
