Super slim and fashionable cameras are one thing — if you’re in the market for that kind of picture taker, the T-series from Sony wouldn’t be a bad bet — but if you’re serious about taking exceptional photographs, then you should take a good long look at the new EOS Kiss Digital X (a.k.a. Rebel XTi) from Canon, an entry-level DSLR that won’t disappoint.
Following hot on the success of the previous incarnation (the Kiss N, a.k.a. Rebel XT), this new offering bumps the imaging sensor up to a 10.1 megapixel unit and you can grab one with a EF70-200 F4 L IS USM lens.
A global launch is planned for some time in September with the expected volume hitting around 180,000 units a month. The camera body itself (in silver or black) will retail for 90,000 yen (US$775), with filters, lenses, and all those other pseudo-professional doo-hickeys running up the bill from there.
