The Volkswagen Eos is the best selling convertible in Europe, so it seems a bit surprising that the company hasn’t introduced it into the American market yet. Until now. The 2007 Volkswagen Eos has finally arrived in American showrooms, a happening that was delayed several times before it was successful.

This is not your typical ragtop convertible, but it isn’t as awkward to use as many hardtops can be. It has a unique folding hardtop, which is made up of five panels and has an integrated sunroof.

The Volkswagen Eos comes with two choices of engines. The cheaper version, costing $27,990, is a 2.0-liter turbo four cylinder generating 200 horsepower. For someone who wants more power (or wants to spend more money), they can get a 3.2 liter narrow angle V6 with 250 horsepower if they are willing to part with $36,850.

The cars are available for test drives and will be on sale in the U.S. in the fall.
