General Dynamics GoBook XR-1 built military tough

Having a laptop with beefy specs and a flashy appareance just doesn’t cut it anymore. Our personal electronics take a heck of a beating these days, especially when they are deployed by the army, navy, air force or the marines in their duties overseas. Want to have a high-level notebook that can withstand just about anything you throw at it? Then take a look at the GoBook XR-1 from General Dynamics, a company better known for their F-16 fighter jet.

This tough laptop can really take a licking and keep on ticking, with military-grade resistances to dust, water, altitude, shocks, and more. Whether you’re in the deserts of Iraq or in the urban jungles of New York, the XR-1 will keep you productive and connected.

Looking down the spec sheet, you’ll discover a 1.83 GHz Core Duo processor, 12.1-inch screen, and built-in GPS tracking. But all that ruggedness won’t come cheap, as the GD XR-1 will sell for $4300 when it goes on sale this September.
