I wasn’t overly impressed with the garden variety Nokia 8800 when it hit Fido’s line-up here in the Great White North. I thought that it lacked any kind of special functionality to justify the hefty asking price, other than its attractive chrome casing. Well, Nokia is the world’s largest cell phone maker, so obviously they know something that I don’t.

That’s why they have already issued an Aston Martin Edition of the shiny sliding phone, and now they’re adding the Sirocco Edition to their family of 8800 handsets. Like its predecessors, the 8800 Sirocco Edition really brings nothing extra to the table in terms of functionality or practical features.

Instead, it’s got a redesigned keypad and a new grooved sliding cover. I think I liked the old phone better, but if you want to be a little different, it will cost you US$1069 (831.20 Euros) to do it. Heck, you even get to choose between silver and black.
