The 1.2-inch OLED color display is a nice touch, but the package makes it look like any other flash-based, bar-shaped MP3 player. Measuring 3.1 x 1.3 x 0.5-inches, the Amigo can take on MP3s and WMAs (including the DRM’d stuff), as well as JPEGs. Other key features include a built-in FM tuner, support for album art, and “easy CD ripping”, presumably using line-in encoding.
The Insignia Amigo is available at Best Buy (naturally, it’s their in-house brand, after all) in either 1GB and 2GB flavours, priced at $99 and $129, respectively.
