As the Nintendo DS (and its redesign, the smaller, brighter DS Lite) comes with built-in WiFi capabilities and a pair of large, vibrant displays, it only makes sense that they put together a web browser for the thing. We heard about the Opera internet browser for the Nintendo DS some time back, and now they’ve finally set a date for the European launch. Japan will get treated to the app on July 24, but Europe will have to wait until October 6.

Oh, and if you happen to be stuck in North America (like me), it’s going to be even longer because they haven’t even set a release date for us yet. We don’t even know if we’re getting it at all, so if you’re itching for some wireless web browsing on Nintendo’s portable gamer, you just might want to look into one of those online importers.

Last I checked, they’re going to be selling for about $50USD, plus shipping.
