Casting aside the news about the partnership between Nissan and Renault for just a moment, it seems that the Japanese automaker is working on a new line of “global cars” that are trying to appeal to every market across the world.
The first of these vehicles is the Livina Geniss, a seven passenger people mover that will make its debut at the Guangzhou International Motor Show this month. What’s more, the initial launch is planned for the Chinese market; Nissan has never launched a brand new vehicle in China.
The styling is reminiscent of the current Murano crossover, but the interior is said to be “reconfigurable” and luxurious. To be built at the Donfeng Motor Company’s Huadu plant in Guangdong Province, the Livina Geniss will be powered by a small 1.8L gasoline engine.
