Samsung and Verizon Wireless are really going to get some attention with this phone. The two companies have agreed to distribute the first 3.2 megapixel camera phone in the world, the Samsung SCH-a990 is the highest megapixel mobile phone to reach the U.S. market.

It’s a real step towards being able to take pictures with your camera that are closer to those as you could take with a typical pocket digital camera. The camera makes the whole picture process easier, too, since Bluetooth capabilities allow you to print wirelessly to a Bluetooth capable printer. It also has a flash and in-camera photo-editing software to make it a powerful tool. The screen rotates 180 degrees so that it can go from looking like a phone to looking like a camera for easier use.

The SCH-a990 is also a multimedia phone, offering VCAST Music to download music and VCAST for video. A microSD slot lets you easily add extra memory. The phone measures 3.8″ x 1.88″ x .82″ and weighs 4.4 ounces. It will cost $349.99 with a two year agreement on Verizon Wireless.
