If any Japanese auto brand exudes luxury, it’s got to be the Toyota-owned Lexus line of vehicles. These cars have come a long way since their early days of convincing people that vehicles made in the land of the rising sun can compete with the European super brands, like Mercedes and BMW. Lexus is getting ready to release a “big” and “bold” ultra luxury sedan upon the European masses and it goes by the name of LS460.

To be showcased at the British Motor Show this month, the LS460, as its name implies, packs in a 4.6L V8 engine capable of developing 375 horsepower. Don’t even think about calling this car gutless. Because it isn’t a sports car, though, they’ve kept the ride a little softer and little easier to handle in city traffic, thanks to the world’s first eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Lexus LS460, destined to hit UK showrooms in November, is designed to bring “luxury, refinement and safety”, targeting the same market as the Mercedes S-Class.
