I know, I know. When you hear about the Kodak EasyShare line of digital cameras, you think of family vacations and point-and-shoot simplicity. The Z612 appears to shatter those misconceptions, because as its name implies, it packs a 6 megapixel imaging sensor and an incredible 12x optical zoom lens.

Even the physical design of the camera screams of higher-end picture takers. From the chrome accents to the pop-up flash, the Kodak EasyShare Z612 is ready to take on the big boys in the prosumer segment of digital cameras. Other key features include a large color LCD, and Kodak’s “Image Stabilizer” function to avoid fuzzy snapshots.

It’s a little disheartening to hear that this probably won’t be making it to North America anytime soon as it was developed by Kodak Korea. During the special promotional event in Korea, Kodak will be tossing in a 1GB memory card and a tripod for free when you pick up the Z612 for 499,000 Korean Won (~$528 USD).
