Volvo debuts new environmentally-friendly bus

Travelers in Paris today will see a new fleet of buses on the scene. The large red buses are a new offering from Volvo, with both the environment and the comfort of passengers in mind.

The 9-liter engine is available in both gas and diesel versions, each of which meets the Euro 5 emission standards. The new catalytic technology consumes less fuel overall.

The Volvo 7700 is available in the 12-meter variety, which seats up to 95 passengers, and the 18-meter version, which seats up to 150.

Volvo Bus, the world’s second-larget maker of large buses, has already received orders for 300 of the 7700 models.
