Special Edition Mercedes SLK 55 AMG roars up the road

As if a regular SLK 55 wasn’t enough to whet your whistle and turn a few heads as you whip around town, Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to release a special edition of the AMG’d out sports coupe that will surely be the envy of all your Beverly Hills neighbours.

While they’ve clearly thrown in some cosmetic upgrades so it is painfully obviouse to those around you that you’re sitting in something pretty special (edition), the meat of the action can be found under thd hood. AMG has tuned up a 5.5L V8, effectively giving you 400 horses at your beck and call. The 384 lbs-ft isn’t exactly anything to sneeze at either. Rocket from a standstill to 60mph in a speedy 4.5 seconds.

The drop top has been eliminated in favour of a permanent closed roof made of carbon-reinforced plastic (let the CRaP jokes ensue), lowering the vehicle’s centre of gravity.

Look for the special edition SLK 55 AMG to hit the streets of Europe some time soon with a $135,713 price tag, but they’re not telling us if and when this beast of a vehicle is coming State-side.

I just got through a half dozen documentaries and videos that I’ve been meaning to get to for months now. How I did it? The Just Mobile UpStand and a bit of help from CineXplayer. Now that my iPad conveniently sits next to my monitor in seemingly perfect viewable angle, I can let those videos play as I work during the day.

The iPad has established itself as one of the coolest gadgets of the year, and is a must have if you love Apple. Its large display, crystal clear screen, and a multitude of features make it one of the most impressive tablets on the market. Check out Mobile Magazine’s iPad review here. However, like all iDevices, they do leave something to be desired in the area of durability.
