Sure, you can try to import the latest cell phone from Japan or grab the hottest new desktop-replacement laptop with ultra high powerful graphics, but some days, you just want to hang out and relax. With summer just around the corner, inevitably many of us are going to either host or attend a number of barbecues.

If you’re anything like me, though, you don’t want to feel attached to the grill. Go wireless baby, with the remote BBQ temperature sensor! You’re already wireless for just about everything else; why not the barbeque too?

Produced by Maverick Industries, the battery-operated unit can send out its signal up to 100 feet away, allowing you to mingle with your guests while staying fully aware of how cooked your meat is getting. They have settings for rare, medium rare, medium, and well done.

In addition to beaming the temperature, the Maverick product can also act as a timer (counting either up or down). Available now for $80.
