You know, sometimes you just want to hear about a product that comes with a decent set of features, a reasonably attractive form factor, and a price that you can actually afford. Today, that product is the Toshiba Satellite AW5 notebook computer.
The laptop comes with a good-sized 15.4-inch WXGA display, your choice of Celeron M on the low end right up to Core Duo on the high end, and a 60 gigabyte hard drive. The available 128MB GeForce Go 7600 and up to 2GB of RAM will keep you whizzing along in your daily portable duties.
Other key features include a dual-layer DVD burner and 4-in-1 media card reader, as well as PC and ExpressCard/54 slots. Integrated 802.11a/b/g wi-fi appears to be the only wireless option, with no word of Bluetooth or 3G.
The higher end model runs about $1700 currently in Japan, but that may change before the Toshiba Satellite AW5 makes an American appearance.
