All you aspiring spies out there working at Lenovo may want to grab a Sagem vectroTEL X8 crypto phone. It features end-to-end call encryption. That security is accomplished using both a 1024-bit Diffie Hellman Key exchange and 128-but AES encryption. Once you stick in a miniSD card/ crypto module which features PIN activation, you can make secure calls to other people who also have a Sagem vectroTEL X8 crypto phone. You can, of course, use it as a regular, non-secure phone as well. It’s designed to be discreet enough that other people can’t notice by looking that you have a special phone.
Besides the security, the phone features some nice regular features, including a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and a 240 x 320 pixel, 256k color display. It is a tri-band phone which will work on GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900. It measures 115 x 47 x 21 mm and weighs 125g. No word on price or availability.
