If you’ve been waiting for the right device to come along before you commit to satellite radio, maybe the Sirius Sportster 4 will put you over the top. It continues in the tradition of the Sportster line, but adds some attractive new functionality. It has a 44 minute buffer which will give you something to listen to as you move the device from the car to the house. That will be handy because it still doesn’t receive live satellite radio on the go. The Sportster 4 hasn’t changed the recording features of earlier models, but it has added a vehicle dock for added flexibility. The vehicle dock also has an auxiliary MP3 input.

The features include 30 presets, a bundled remote, and alerts for favorite artists and updates for the scores you want to keep track of. The Sportster 4 will hit the stores later this month for $170. Other features, including a boombox dock, will follow.
