Remember, oh, a couple of months ago when getting a notebook computer with a Core Duo processor made you the hippest cat on the block? It doesn’t really seem that way anymore, given the readily available supply of these things, so you need a little something extra to feel special these days. We first heard about the ultraportable Asus W7J back in March, and now this graphical powerhouse in a lightweight package is finally available.

Unlike other Core Duo-powered ultraportable laptops on the market, the Asus W7J – once known as the W7V in some circles – comes with something better than integrated graphics. They’ve upped the ante to a 256MB nVidia GeForce Go 7400 card, which is great for all you gaming freaks out there. Other features include the 2.16GHz T2600 processor, 1GB of RAM, a dual-layer DVD burner, and 100GB hard drive. Your wireless needs are met with integrated 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 support.

The Asus W7J is available now with prices starting in the sub-$2000 range.
