Microsoft’s MapPoint 2006 is here. The business mapping software has been updated with the latest in geographical technologies. The first and foremost of these is a GPS locator hardware kit, an add-on that is highly recommended.

MapPoint is specifically designed for the mobile business traveler. One of the key functions is a GPS window that incorporates constantly updated satellite information to display current location, speed, and traveling direction. In addition, you can get driving directions en route to your destination, and you can receive these directions in either text or voice mode.

The application itself has an initial price point of US$299. The GPS locator kit adds US$50 to the price tag.
