Origami It’s UMPC for France

While the name of this device will cause a furrowed eyebrow or two over in English-speaking countries, I guess the “Origami It’s” (yes, that’s its name) makes perfect sense to the people of France where this UMPC is set to be released. The Origami It’s is being designed and sold by a company known as “It’s Label”, and will sport a VIA C7M NaNo processor (which is to be priced cheaper than the Intel-based units) of up to 1GHz.

It should come as no surprise that this touch screen (7-inch VGA TFT LCD) device will be running Windows XP Tablet Edition with Touch Pack. Other features include a 5400rpm 40GB hard drive, 512MB RAM, GPS, a built in 1 watt speaker, and a combination 3.5mm headphone/stereo microphone jack. Connectivity options include 802.11b/g WLAN and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR Class 1.

The 2200mAh lithium ion battery will keep it running, and you can stay connected with a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a 36-pin Cradle Connector, and the possibility to add a USB modem, external CD-RW/DVD combo drive, and other peripherals. Available now for 990 Euros.
