BlackBerry Media Player set to receive BerryCasts next month

If you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to get all sorts of multimedia on your newer BlackBerry device, including downloads of daily content, you’ll be glad to hear that Sona Mobile is launching a BlackBerry Media Player next month.

The software application is designed to offer “multimedia applications on newer BlackBerry devices,” but this is more than just an MP3 player. Instead, Sona is saying that you will be able to use their solution to enjoy “near TV quality playback of synchronized video and audio files.” Essentially, you can start to receive podcasts (or what they’re calling “BerryCasts”) on your RIM device starting with Sona’s first partner, CanWest Global.

The daily updates are expected to be some variation of the news program you can catch on the telly, with more programming and content to come along down the line. More specific deets are expected to be discussed at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium in Orlando, Florida from May 16-18.
