Gateway Tablet PC adds Core Duo to the package
While you’re waiting around for the price of UMPCs to come down to a more reasonable level, if you want to get your hands on a touchscreen with full Windows functionality, you have little choice but to opt for a tablet PC. Fear not, my Mobile Magazine readers, because Gateway is jumping back into the fray with an update to the CX200 they’ve had on the market for some time now.
The CX210 for home users and M285-E series for professionals (which are essentially the same thing) is a tablet PC that comes complete with a full keyboard for your regular laptop needs, as well as a host of features that you keep you begging for more.
For starters, they’ve upgraded the processor to an Intel Core Duo unit so you can be sure it will handle all your multitasking with the greatest of ease. Other highlights include integrated Bluetooth connectivity, 802.11a/b/g wireless Ethernet, and for you graphics junkies, you can opt for some ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 goodness as well.
Look for the 8 pound-ish unit to start shipping soon, with prices starting in the $1400 range.
