Personally, when the Chrysler 300 first hit the market, I thought it was a bit of a boat. It’s not the smallest car on the market, but that could just be the environmentally-friendly Canadian in me speaking, being surrounded by tiny Smart Cars and Toyota Yarises.

Then the Dodge Magnum was unleashed, and I thought that was just humungous, but both cars have really caught on and there is a huge demand for them in the marketplace, both among classier fellows and those interested in a more aggressive (gangster?) look for their luxury sedans.

Well, if you’re a little on the taller side of things, you’ll be glad to hear that you can much more easily fit into a 300′s back seat now, because Chrysler is offering a long-wheelbase version. They’ve stretched the car about six inches, providing about the same for rear seat leg room. You can see the difference between the regular and long-wheelbase models in the picture to the right.

Look for the long-wheelbase 300 to start shipping this fall, complete with an option for a 5.7-liter V8.
