Those broccoli stalks and carrot shavings your local grocery store throws out might soon be the source of organic fuel.

A company called Feed Resource Recovery has developed a plan to convert organic solid waste—like those food clippings—into methane, liquid fertilizer, and solid compost, with each of those being sold to green-minded consumers. And it’s not just food waste. Paper products can be used in the composting process as well.

With more and more people and businesses having the environment in mind these days, the time would seem right for such an enterprise to find willing financiers and business partners, as well as markets for its products.
