Toshiba unleashes Dynabook SS MX notebook

Toshiba is at it again. The company is already a recognized leader in the industry, known for its notebook computers that are built sturdy and reliable. The latest in this line is the Dynabook SS MX, a relatively lightweight laptop, weighing in at 4.2 pounds with specs that could rival a reasonably equipped desktop.

Powered by an Intel Core Duo T2300 processor (1.66 GHz), the SS MX comes with an 80GB hard drive, 512MB RAM and a 4-in-1 memory card reader to tackle all your digital camera and PDA-ish needs. Of course, there are a few (three) USB 2.0 ports handy, as well as slots for a Type 2 PC Card and IEEE 1394 (4 pin) FireWire. Watching movies on its 12.1-inch WXGA display is a cinch, just pop your favourite disc into the DVD Super Multi drive.

And best of all, you can be sure that all your important documents are staying secure thanks to the integrated biometric fingerprint reader. Look for the Toshiba Dynabook SS MX to drop a little later this month for about $1773.

Its large display, crystal clear screen, and a multitude of features make it one of the most impressive tablets on the market. Check out Mobile Magazine’s iPad review here. However, like all iDevices, they do leave something to be desired in the area of durability.
