Here’s the skinny on Nikon’s new ad campaign: Kate Moss will be everywhere in the coming weeks advertising the Coolpix S6.
The supermodel is making a comeback of sorts, after losing contracts for a handful of fashion brands about a year ago. Moss is back with Calvin Klein, which made her super-famous a decade ago; and now she is promoting Nikon’s new digital offering.
The hot new camera is a 6-megapixel point-and-shoot model that is less than an inch thick despite having a bright 3-inch-wide LCD screen. Its features include WiFi connectivity and embedded software that facilitates slide shows. Music is included to make it even easier. Internal memory is 24MB. For the photographically challenged among you, there is also an in-camera red-eye fix.
The official kickoff of the ad campaign—in print, on TV, in theaters, and on the Web—is May 8. Initial pricing is US$499.95.
