A relatively small firm based out of Las Vegas claims to have developed an electric car that can beat a Mc Laren F1 and Ford GT90.
Set to be unveiled at the New York Auto Show later this week, the LiX-75 from Hybrid Technologies runs completely on electricity – you can plug it in the wall at night for 4-6 hours to fully juice up its numerous lithium-ion batteries (the same as those found in laptops, only beefier) – but is capable of going from 0-60mph in a mere 3 seconds. That’s 1 second less then the 8-wheeler Elicia. Keep the foot on the gas, and this Ferrari-esque vehicle tops out at 200mph.
Of course, plugging the car into the wall every night may not be the most practical way to recharge all the time (that and it just displaces most of the potential pollution to wherever you get your electricity from), so this $125,000 supercar is also fitted with solar panels on the trunk.
“It’s the environmentalist mid-life crisis vehicle.”
