Innoplus put two and two together when the idea dawned on someone in the company that both personal media players (PMPs) and GPS units use about the same size screen. “Why not combine movie playing with navigation,” someone exclaimed, and thus the Innoplus i-With 401 was born.

It comes with all your standard PMP-ish things, like an ample 4-inch WQVGA (480 x 272) TFT display with 16.7 million colors, TV-out, USB 2.0, and a couple of miniature built-in speakers. While the dual 1350mAh lithium-ion batteries are capable of showing off a four-hour movie (Peter Jackson fans rejoice!), you can only get a dismal six hours of audio out of this thing. Also bear in mind that it takes no less than five hours to fully recharge the i-With 401.

That said, you’ll be happy to hear that this PMP will take on just about anything you throw at it, from Xvid and DivX 3.11 to M4A and OGG, not to mention just about every picture format, including a variety of RAWs (CRW, NEF, ORF, etc.).

For the non-GPS versions, the 40-gigger will run you about $411USD, or double the storage capacity and pay $575 USD. If you opt for the GPS navigation option, the 40GB and 80GB i-With 401 are $515 and $678, respectively.
