Looking at the headset itself, you wouldn’t think that there is anything particularly special about the Scala-750 from Cardo Systems. After all, it’s just another Bluetooth unit, right? Well, if you investigate a little further, and delve into what else comes in the package, you’ll come back with a couple of pleasant surprises.

For those of us who don’t want to be wearing our Bluetooth headsets all the time, no matter how comfortable they make these things, a small carrying pouch comes bundled in with the Scala-750. By the looks of things, this pouch probably has a belt clip and a snap on cover, providing for fairly quick access to the headset itself.

More interestingly, however, is a portable LCD display that can allow you to monitor your calls from up to 30 feet away from the phone. The most obvious function is to use caller ID without whipping your handset, and it seems the display can be mounted onto the carrying pouch. Keep your phone in your drawer or backpack, but still know who’s ringing you up.

Among the more conventional features are a one-touch device mating change, 10 hours of talk time, 240 hours of standby, echo cancellation and a speaker booster. No word on pricing or availability.
