There is no shortage of music phones in the market, particularly in Asia where finding a handset that doesn’t have multimedia functionality is actually harder to come by. DNet of China has jumped all over this market, and their DS801 is the latest in a long line of phones that have their designs “inspired” by a certain DAP from a guy named Steve.

The circular navigation panel is immediately reminiscent of the now famous click wheel. In the closed position, this phone could easily be mistaken as simply a music player, but slide it open and reveal the full numerical keypad for all your telephony and text messaging needs. There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera on-board, a TFT-LCD display, and a miniSD expansion slot.

No word on pricing or availability, but don’t expect this tri-band GSM music phone to be jumping onto North American shores any time soon, if at all.
